Join Our Committee – Volunteer Roles Available
We are currently looking for volunteers to join our committee for people who employ PAs. Please note all our meetings/events are online, so you won’t be expected to travel. You will just need access to Zoom which is free to download.
Available roles:
Northern Ireland Representative
- Scotland Representative (to work alongside our current Rep)
General Committee Member
Our committee is made up of people with lived experience of employing PAs or managing care budgets on behalf of someone else. This includes those using any funding source – whether direct payments, personal health budgets, or self-funded care. If you have relevant lived experience and want to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
What’s involved?
A minimum commitment of one committee meeting per month (for seven months of the year)
Additional involvement in meetings or projects, agreed in advance
Helping shape the work of our group and improving support for PA employers
What we do:
Our committee works collaboratively to:
Organise online meetings, webinars, and free events
Develop and share useful information and advice via our website
Manage and grow our community
Engage on social media and through newsletters
Represent PA employers in meetings with other organisations and government bodies to push for better social care
- Offer peer support online and at Zoom events.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for people who:
Have lived experience as a PA employer or of managing a care budget
Have some time to give. We’re flexible and respectful of health, energy, and life commitments but we are looking for someone that can dedicate some time to the committee
Are passionate about improving the lives of PA employers across the UK
Are team players, open to learning, and happy to share their perspective and experience
No previous committee experience is needed – we offer a warm welcome.
